Spencer had his first taste of cub scouts. He was invited to attend Blue and Gold banquet. They introduce all the boys that will be turning 8 and coming into scouts this upcoming year. Tim Johnson, the cub-master, interviewed each of the boys in front of everyone to introduce them. They asked me some questions about Spencer before and one of the things I mentioned was that he likes Pokemon. So Tim brought some Pokemon cards and did a mini battle with Spencer. Spencer was so excited it was so cute. I can't believe how fast he is growing up.
A week before the first day of Spring it snowed. (it also snowed a few weeks after the first day of spring- Utah!) Tried to make the most of it. Sent the boys out to do some food coloring in the snow, turned on the fire and we drank the last of the hot cocoa.
A rare quiet moment. Jeffrey is starting to like watching nursery rhyme music videos.
Spencer's friend Tristan had a birthday so for his present we took him to the dinosaur museum. It was Pajama day at school and they didn't want to change (and Rod wanted to copy them) so we did the museum PJ's and all.
Had a fun incident a couple months ago during Sunday Dinner. Rod and Spencer were messing around and Rod fell teeth first into the kitchen table. He started crying and I could see there was some blood so I lifted him up onto the counter and looked in his mouth and all four of his top, front teeth were shoved back, almost touching the roof of his mouth (not pretty). Somewhere in the back of my mind I thought I remembered hearing that if the teeth shift you should try to push them back into place. So I stuck my fingers in his mouth and pulled the teeth back as best I could into place. They were a little crooked but not too bad now. He had a big nasty cut but it stopped bleeding after a minute or two. We gave him some children's Advil and an ice pack to try to prevent swelling. We called the after hours number for our dentist and thankfully he said I did all the exact right things (felt like a competent mom for once). We went in the next day and the dentist said the teeth were already positioned pretty well (just a little crooked) and they were lining up for him to eat alright so he didn't do anything else. Rod's teeth are gray and little crooked until they fall out and his permanent teeth come in, but we have a good story to tell.

Rod woke up the next morning with a gi-normous upper lip! It would have been funny if it wasn't so sad.
Rod always steals my phone and takes a dozen pictures of nothing. But every once in a while I find a keeper.
Letter K at preschool.
Rod's dinner of choice this week? Pancake sandwich, oranges and corn on the cob.
Rod pretending this was his throne and he was my master (instead of cleaning his room). I played along for a little while. :)
Spencer finished a piano book so we went to Nickelmania Arcade.
Rod's dream come true right here. He is obsessed with motorcycles and helicopters right now.
Super hero day at preschool.
We did a service scavenger hunt for our Easter activity at church. Broke up into teams and did different service around town then went back to eat donuts. One of our items was to return shopping carts to their stalls at the grocery store.
Every month at school they have an awards ceremony. There are 9 awards that each grade is awarded. Spencer received the "Grit" (courage and resolve; strength of character.) award for 1st grade.
At school every morning Spencer has a journal he is supposed to do. He brings home the journal at the end of every month. I read them and almost die from the cuteness.

Rod's other obsession- Legos!! This kid could (and sometimes does) play legos all day. He especially loves the little mini figs. He made me take the picture over and over again until I got a good one of the figures.
Had to take a picture and text it to Steve at work to prove to him that I really do clean the house. (it never looks like this by the time he gets home)
Also sent Steve this one another day. "Why I don't like baking with little boys"
