End of Summer Days

 I wouldn't let him pour milk in his ear.

 Rod got to have a movie party with his neighborhood friends.

 Finally took the boys to splash pad. Rod hated splash pads when he was little. Jeffrey loved it!

 I'm the PTA secretary this year at school. It's been a big time commitment but fun too.

What do you do when you spent all afternoon cleaning your kitchen till it's spotless and you want it to stay clean for more than 30 minutes? Breakfast for dinner- picnic style!

 Jeffrey and Rod were playing Superman-Jeffrey wouldn't cooperate for picture.

 Jeffrey discovered he could make his legs float. Chilled in the pool like this for a while.

 Our city did a park scavenger hunt. They gave clues and you had to figure out which park it was and take a picture where they said to in the clue. Since we had made a goal to visit all the parks in Spanish Fork this summer we immediately  knew where each clue was.

 If we came into the City office and showed them all the picture the kids got a prize. They also entered us into the big prize drawing. I never win anything so I didn't think anything about it. But we ended up winning the grand prize! $50 to a sporting goods store so we went and bought and a tent. We're excited to use it next summer.

 Completed our summer goal and visited all the parks in Spanish Fork. This one was our last and had an amazing view!

 MTC open house. The Missionary Training Center is where LDS missionaries go for 3-12 weeks (depending on if they are learning a language) before they leave on their mission. The church renovated and added some new buildings so they opened it up to the public to do a walk through. This map is where a lot of missionaries take a picture when they come pointing to where they are going to serve. The boys pointed where they want to go. Spencer-England. Rod-Mexico. Robin-Australia :)

 Solar Eclipse. Where we live the moon wouldn't be 100% covered but it was about 90%. I was just planning on watching it on TV but Steve called and said he got a pair of glasses from his work so we drove over there to watch it with him. I'm not going to lie-it was pretty amazing. A fun way to spend our last day of summer.

Grandma trip to Oregon

Grandma Oliver took a trip up to Oregon to visit her family for a week and took, Aunt Jessica, Uncle David and Spencer with her. I'm not going to lie, I was a bit nervous and sad when he left. Luckily Jessica and David took a lot of pictures to keep me updated. 

They went to a fishery museum that we also visited the first time we went to Oregon when Spencer a baby. Comparison picture in front of the same display. He's changed a little bit.

Got a really nasty cut while he was there that is still healing a month later. But he got to have Lucky Charms every day for breakfast, so totally worth it.

Aunt Jennifer came down from Washington to visit for a couple days too.

Road their bikes to the beach and got to see a lot of very beautiful Oregon sites.

Fiesta Days

Spanish Fork's city days are called Fiesta Days. We moved in last year a couple days after it ended so I was excited to participate this year. 

The festivities kicked off with a firework show. There was a concert before hand and it was supposed to start after the concert about 9:15pm. I didn't think the boys would sit through a 2 hour concert and it was really late for the baby so I decided to leave the baby with Steve (pros and cons of having a husband that would much rather stay home then go out and do things) and I took the boys at 9pm. Well the fireworks didn't end up starting until after 10pm. I brought a bottle of water but that was it. figured we'd get there see the fireworks and go, not sit there for an hour while the people next to us were eating Pizza. Rod was tired and hungry and was NOT a happy camper. He kept looking over at the people eating pizza and would start crying and say, "I'm just so jealous and hungry!" Not even picture taking would cheer him up. But luckily for me Spencer is an amazing older brother. He saw Rod needed cheered up so he asked Rod if he wanted a ride on his back. Rod perked up and hopped on. It did the trick. They played and ran around until the show finally started. About 3 minutes into the firework show Rod got very quiet and still. I looked over and he had fallen fast asleep. I think we'll wait until he's a bit older before taking him to another firework show.

We also splurged and took the boys to the carnival on buddy night. Buy one un-limited ride wrist band, get one free. It was very hot for the first half-hour but the sun started going down and once it started cooling down we all had a blast.

This is a fun house they had that the boys loved! They probably went through it at least 30 times. At one point I just sat on a bench and watched them go through it over and over and over.

Most of the rides were kiddy rides but Spencer was tall enough and really wanted to go on a big kid ride. I finally let him go on one that wasn't too scary. But he couldn't ride it alone and I didn't have a wrist band so the guy in charge put him with 2 other girls. None of them were too thrilled by the arrangement (I personally couldn't stop laughing at their facial expressions). But Spencer still loved going on it.

Rod's dream come true. Still loves motorcycles and wants to be a "motorcycle  and helicopter police guy" when he grows up.

My favorite was the parade and even Steve joined me for this one. I went a couple hours early, while Steve got the boys ready and brought them later, so we could get a good spot. It's always awkward for me when I camp out in front of some strangers house.

Haha I also realized I wear my Red SUU shirt a lot. It's my go-to what can I say?
