April Events

We had a crazy late spring snowstorm to start off April. At least the kids had fun playing in it.
The only picture I got of Easter. One day I'll take a nice Sunday picture.
For my art class I had to create an original piece of art. I used pastels and acrylic paint on cardboard to make this. I wrote in pen the internal dialogue and of the business and to do lists in side my head at all times. The picture represents me finding peace amid the chaos.

We babysat baby Vickie for a couple nights. Andrea loved having another little girl playmate around.

More preschool shenanigans. playing in water and animal face paint.

They wore the face paint to Rod's 5th grade track meet.

Rod won his heat for the track meet and made it to the finals. He got 6th overall. Which is great considering there were over a hundred kids.
Certificates for the events he finaled in.

Jeffrey was awarded the responsibility award at school from Mrs. T. Peterson. She also sent me this picture of him because he looked so much like Dwight Shrute from The Office. haha
I was head of Teacher Appreciation week for East Meadows. I was also head of the middle school one so I just stole all the ideas from that. We did a travel theme. The office, custodian and others had "letters" on their door that students could write messages of thanks on. We also had a mailbox to leave notes for our speciality teachers and techs. Jamie Sayre did an awesome job with decorations. It ended up really cute.

Spencer started a lawn mowing business. He took over the Hauglid's from Katy Smith and built it from there.

Arches National Park

We took a day off of school to go to Arches National Park.
Things I loved:
The park was absolutely beautiful and iconic. Pictures never do it justice.
Spencer had his own camera for the first time and I loved seeing the pictures he took.
We went during the off season and had great weather and minimal crowds.
I turned off my phone other than taking pictures so I could truly enjoy the day with my family.

Things I didn't love as much:
Steve is terrified of heights and was freaking out during the famous arches hike. Between that and the wind I couldn't get a good picture of the family. Spencer and Rod were the only ones brave enough to come under the actual arch with me.
When I turned my phone back on I got a ton of texts from my local friend group chat that I had missed and from my kid's schools. Apparently there was a fake shooting prank and the swat team was deployed to the high school and all the schools in the area were secured until they figured out it was prank. Everyone was freaking out and it was really scary for about 20 minutes. So glad I missed it.
