We drove down to St. George on Saturday and got to spend some time with Dad and Amber and her family. Then after church on Sunday we headed to California. Someone had told us before, and I remembered after we ran into horrible traffic, that you should never drive to California on Sunday (you hit all the traffic of people going home from Las Vegas). So what should have been a 5 1/2 hour drive took over 7 hours. But we finally made it to the hotel. Had some microwavable dinners, watched a movie and got a good night's sleep.
Day 1: California Adventures
This was probably the boys favorite day. Not too busy, not too hot and they loved all the rides they went on. The Ferris Wheel was a favorite because we went on a swinging one so we were going up and down and back and forth while we were going around. The boys were laughing and loving it. I, on the other hand, had to close my eyes most of the time. I was totally freaking out.
The least favorite ride for Rod was the Bug's life 3D movie "It's Tough being a Bug". We had 3D glasses and he didn't understand it was all fake so when a spider starting shooting poisonous darts at us he started freaking out. I held him in my lap and he shook and had his hands over his eyes the entire time. Spencer on the other hand was laughing and couldn't stop talking about it after (he said it was his favorite). Rod's favorite ride was the Mater's tractor ride. We rode it twice. Any ride that was fast and spinny the boys just laughed and laughed. It was so fun.
Day 2: Beach Day
We all loved the beach- relaxing, messy fun. We played in the waves (both the boys got knocked down by the waves at some point and got to taste some of that yummy salt water), buried Spencer, attempted a sand castle, rested in the shade and snacked and then ended with exploring some tidal pools.
Day 3: Disneyland
It was a very busy and hot day at Disneyland but we still got on most of the rides and found out once again that our boys are adrenaline junky's. They also loved all the animatronic rides too.
Spencer said his all time favorite ride was Splash Mountain. But that is pure terror on his face. I laugh every time I look at it. When we got off the ride he was shaking because he had so much adrenaline going.
Happiest Place on Earth!
